Summarising the uncanny habit of Mathematics to describe nature:

Mathematics is the purest result of the human mind. There is something intuitive about it, so much so that it’s inherent within us. It’s evident when a toddler raises two fingers when asked how many candy bars they would like. No real analysis is needed to figure out two candy bars are more than one (pun intended).

However, the treatment of Mathematics as a subject introduced in school causes all sorts of trouble. Many people grow up to hate it, maybe because of the low grades they received or the fact that they failed to understand the concept of ‘Exponentials and Logarithms’ in grade 10. The misconception that ‘Mathematics is a part of Science’ doesn’t help the cause. I have been a victim of it; I grew up dreading it. Thankfully, I have had the opportunity to rediscover it, and since then, I have embarked on a journey.

This notebook keeps track of this journey. It consists of coursework and resources related to my attempt to formalise my study of Mathematics. The primary reason behind doing all this is to keep learning and improving my mathematical skills, which enhances my intuition and abstract thinking.

Learning Mathematics is an experience that changes an individual. You develop the patience needed to look at an idea differently; you learn to appreciate the significance of subtle corollary. It enables one to speak the language of nature, uncover hidden patterns and play around with ideas to develop an intimate understanding of nature.
